need help guys...have a 2000 flhtpi and every so orten when turning to the right like from a stop sign or side street the bike will just die like someone hit the kill switch...happened last year prolly about 3 or 4 times didnt pay to much attention to it...it happened about 5 times yesterday alone...have the fairing off now looking for chaffed wires or something obvious..anyone ever have this type of problem? any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated..
My first thought would be somthing loose in the kill switch. The happening while turning makes me think maybe somthing loose shifting out of place enough to open the circuit.
This is very common on Police electraglides also, especially on the evos. I had a 97 that did the exact thing you describe. It was attributed to a chaffed wire in the main harness near the the right side of the neck if I remember correctly. Dealer fixed it quick.

Wasn't there a recall for the bank angle sensor around that time?
I had a 2000 FLTR, and I _think_ that got replaced under recall.
If I were you, I'd check with the nearest HD dealership to see if there is still a recall on that one. You want to have your VIN number along with you.
You can also check for recalls here. You will have to register before you can use it. Then you wont even have to leave your house, lmao. If its not recalled, I would start searching for shorts.
