The local dealer has some octane booster that comes in a one timed use plastic package that would fit in your pocket and wont leak. Throw a couple in your saddle bag for emergencies.
FYI: Toluene is a solvent that you can buy cheap by the gallon at paint stores. It is also an octane booster. In the 80s it was used by Formula 1 teams at 86% by volume.
I can't remember the recommended ratio for non-turbo Formula 1 use but Google has it. I do know that a gallon will last you a lifetime. It is is similar to Ethanol in that it is corrosive to fuel system components so I use it only when needed and at the minimum ratio needed.
In my experience, they all work. If you have a pinging engine and use it the ping will go away. My biggest question is, is it safe for the bike? I doubt it. At least not if used all the time. Used occasionally I don't think it will hurt.
Rocket Fuel - formulated for HD engines only. If you ever get bad gas ( not from what you ate) in your tank it will fix the problem. I use it in every tank especially when I gas up in small towns where the last gas tanker came in long long ago.
