Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll go ahead and run them for a while and then decide.

Always on, just swap them for vented ones with CVO speaker pods. I love them for the look and comfort.

Mount them, you won't regret it.

Don't want them;
- don't like the look
- cooler (and I have "elephant ears" in the tour pak if it gets cold or wet"
- don't need/want more speakers or need more storage.

2 cents,
Dave

I bought my Ultra used and it didn't have lowers. I would have taken them off anyway for two reasons: I think they are hideous , and I can't stand riding with them because they make a bike feel cramped, plus I can't feel the wind. I understand the utility of them and the engine cooling they provide at speed but I just don't like them.

I wouldn't own a bike with out them. The reason I love them it takes all the wind fatigue off your leg muscles. If you do hi highway miles you will love them.

Always have them on, and nice to have a little more storage space. Also helps keeps the wind from coming up under your chin and shaking your sunglasses off your head.

I ordered vented color marched lowers last week when I picked up my new SG and they are supposed to be here next Tuesday. I will not be taking them off. I like the look and the rain protection they offer.

I had soft lowers on my '06 Classicfor cold and rain. Then I bought color matched vented lowers. I ride from Michigan to Florida every summer and the lowers keep heat from the hot Georgia concrete off my legs. I also added Walrus Tusk to the forks and Freedom Wings to the faring. I get air when I want and none when I don't want.
