Default Road Zeppelin Seat

Here is yet another question for the Seat Guru's on the site

If you had a chance to buy a leather Road Zeppelin seat, about a month old for $500, would you.
I know what they cost new, I have only sat on one, I have never ridden with one and I now have a chance to get one.

Thanx for your opinions !!

I have one on an 05 Ultra and the wife and I love it. Well worth the money in my opinion. Gives you a lot more seat area than stock. Got mine from Chicago HD at 20% off.

I bought a new UC in September. In October bought the Zep seat. I am 6'1" 325lb. I love it and so does the wife.
Most I rode was about 250 miles one day before the snow hit but they say you can go forever. As soon as the roads and temperature agree I am going give it a try.

I paid about 700-800 for mine. Would do it again.

I looked all over last week for a used leather Road Zeppelin and couldn't find one. Bought a new one from Chicago Harley, $623 plus $18 freight. I'm looking for something that eases the pressure on a failing hip joint.

I had one on my 2002 Ultra. I loved it. I had it for almost 5 years before I was in an accident and the bike was totaled. Unfortunately I couldn't salvage the seat.

After a couple hours in the saddle I would still get some pressure points, but the advantage of that seat was inflating or deflating bladders to remove the pressure points.

The only downside is the seat raises you up about an inch, and it is really wide. Both are fine for riding, but is does take a little more effort to get on and off the bike. Also, even with my 6' build I couldn't flat foot when the bike was stopped with that seat.

Installation is easy. There is one screw on the rear fender under the tour pak that holds the seat down. The electric connector plugs into your accessory plug under the seat and turns on and off with the accessory switch.

At that price, you could make money on it with ebay! My RZ has been a ride saver. Of all the upgrades I have done to my bike, the RZ was the best. More time in the saddle is what it's all about....

I agree that the RZ seat is the best accessory I've bought. I need to sit a bit higher to relieve an aching cheek after a few hundred miles. This seat certainly does the job. Rode 7,800 miles last June to CA and back, no sorebutt or legs. Mine is vinyl not leather,a no maintenance choice.
The one you're looking at is a great deal.

I have an opportunity to get a used one pretty reasonable but am concerned about the additional height & width. I may just get it for the long hauls I plan to take in this year and switch it out for daily rides.
