All fired up to install my new Kuryakyn extended gearshift lever on the bike to get the healshifter off the end of the floorboard and it wouldn't bolt on. Major disapointment. Being bugged that my size 13's didn't have enough room I had been looking around. I only needed the rear so the Harley part was $149 because you had to buy heal and toe where the Kuryakyn was $72 for each heal and toe.
Well you know the groove in the spindle that you attach the lever to? It didn't line up properly. The bolt hole on the new lever is a tinge too close.
Got to return it.
Anyone had similar problems?
Still looking. Might just stick with the Harley part.
I had one on my bike for a while till I ditched it for one to match my brake lever. I had to make a modified nylon spacer to get it to properly align bolt with shaft groove and still retain the two o-ring seals. When I replace it I had kept original spacer and it fit the new Harley billet one. I wear size 12 boots and with proper adjustment of the shift rod was able to position lever. I never liked the extended one since it increased the throw length and the one I had was steel with square edges. If you look close it is on my signature picture
I had the same issue when I bought mine. The bolt would not thread through the hole to secure it to the splined shaft. Sent it back. I ended up getting a Softbrake. Very satisfied with it.
