Put the PV on the bike and use the data logging to fine tune it yourself. 20-30 minutes of riding under as many different conditions as you can find and then let the PV run the auto tune

Yeah do that and use your stock tune to datalog
Why dont you just tune it while you are on your trip? That autotune feature will eventually fix it for you.
I had issues with the tune from Fuel moto and had bad pinging. When i switched back the pinging went away. From there I just auto tuned it.
The auto tune basic will not adjust the timing. The timing needs adjusted if you are pinging. You or Fuel moto will have to play with the timing. As for the backfire, it almost has to be a fuel issue. Auto tune might help with that.
OP have the very same mods and Fuelmoto tune on my 2009 Ultra. Slight backfire inside the muffler when I shift for 1 to 2 after its warmed up. Plan to use the auto toon feature when it stops raining. Let us know what direction you take.
I had the same experience with PCV on my 2012 FLHR. Bike ran really well but I occassionally would backfire. Reloaded a second map and backfiring's gone but now I feel that my bike tops out quickly and sluggish at full throttle. Going back to FuelMoto and ask if they can assist with another map. Good luck and ride safe.

Retard the timing in the RPM and throttle ranges your having the issue. Start with -1 and go up -1 till its all but eliminated, that's what I did....
