Anybody convert from TBW back to cables with a carb? I hate it more and more everyday. I've been riding my 01 RK more and more as a result. Too sensitive on decel. Slightest twist forward and the RPMs drop off drastically. 12K miles on my 12 RK and I can't still cant get comfortable with it. I have no problem giving up the cruise control at this point! I HATE TBW!
Please don't respond with reasons not to convert and how superior FI is to carb!
I have no experience with this on HD's, but with cars/trucks the sensitivity response can be re-programmed via the ECM. Anyone can confirm this on a HD?
Don't worry, you will get the hang of it. I went from a sporty to my bike. Stopping freaked me out, you can not see the ground in front of the bike with a batwing at all, it scared me at first but after the first week or so, it was second nature, I forgot all about not being able to see the ground in front of me, it was a big change but I adjusted and I feel that you will do the same, just ride it man.
Uh...he's got 12K on it, something tells me if he was going to get used to it, he'd have gotten used to it by now...
I'd also suggest mapping of some sort - my SG doesn't seem to have any problem with 'throttle' modulation - I can roll off a little or a lot, honestly, I can't tell the difference between TBW and a carb on mine.
huh? He talking about throttle by wire (tbw) not the bat wing.
