I don't like TBW either. It hesitates when starting for a complete stop. Almost lose the balance of the bike when starting from a complete stop and taking a turn...
I hear that the Stage 1 upgrade get rid of the hesitation. Is this true?
I know with the Screamin Eagle Tace Tuner Pro that I can change the throttle progressivity in the map. You can change the rate and percentage it opens at given rpm's and by the inches of vaccum the map sensor is seeing. Not sure if you can do that with a Power Vision.
You can change the throttle progressivity with a SEPRT, it will aloow you to change the rate and percentage the throttle opens at certain rpm's and inches of vaccum the map sensor is seeing. Not sure if the Power Vision will let you do that though.
When I took my Street Glide in for the 1,000 mile service I told the shop to take a look at it, they said everything was fine. That maybe true but it's still not as smooth as the cable fuel injection setup on my 05 Road glide.
This bike seems to jump by about 5 mph up or down, drives me nuts.
If you hold the throttle in one position then start moving is again slowly it seems to jump, kind of like it's sticking. I think the brake away torque of the throttle control is to high but I don't know of an adjustment guess I'll just have to get used to it.
The reason TBW appears sensitive is because the map is designed to round off peaks in throttle inputs to improve gas mileage. It's the same in new cars, which is why I hate renting cars when I travel. You can have it remapped to change the sensitivity, which would be A Lot easier and cheaper than converting to the old cable system.
A Dyno tune doesn't automatically equate into a properly adjusted/ tuned bike. A dyno tune with a QUALIFIED dyno operator using the correct tuner with adequate background knowledge and extensive tuning experience will very likely change your mind. If you're looking for that level of experience at a HD stealer you maybe searching for a while. Good luck.
