Same here. Can't feel any difference on my '12 RK. I do have the PC-V and it was dyno'ed by a good tech.
Don't recall any concerns with it when new without the PC-V and dyno.

Please don't respond with reasons not to convert and how superior FI is to carb!

Like some of the guys have mentioned that the TTS Race Tuner will solve that problem and more. You can add more fuel to the lower end of the map that will reduce the dropoff and backfire (popping) too. I found that my throttle response was a bit slow and was able to make it more responsive like my 02 Roadking with the EFI and cables. I also found the bike runs cooler with head temp only at 310 degrees vs closer to 400 running it hard. I was able to match the response of my 02 RK. Very happy with TBW now

There are other factors which may be affecting the issue -

- newer engines run very lean, therefore hesitation AND some excessive response (surge) compared to older bikes
- you might flunk emissions test if you down-convert.
- The one-cylinder idle feature on the newer engines may be affecting start-roll response - try shutting it off (see owner manual)

I don't know what you could have wrong but to tell ya the truth I wouldn't know mine was TBW if I hadn't read about it here and elsewhere. I don't have any lag or sensitivity issues others have mentioned. I have had over forty years riding carb'd cabled bikes and didn't notice the difference on the new RGU, in either stock tune or stage 1 tune. It sounds like someone tweaked parameters on yours and not in the correct direction. Take it to the dealer or a different dealer and see what they say about it. Take a test ride on other 12 RK's and see if they feel the same. As far as I can tell it should not feel noticeably different from a cabled bike.
I do feel your pain about the complexity of the newer systems but I think going back to carb may not be the best solution. I believe that would involve changing ECM, Ignition, and other electronics as well. Could be a real can of worms and would no doubt void your warranty. Hope you get it sorted out.

I didn't notice any difference myself. Anything could be done, but you'd loose the cruise, the idle temp rear cyl fueling shutdown and it'd be expensive and time consuming, but hey...it's your bike.

Im still trying to get the hang of it. Went from an 07 Night Train to a 2011 SG. I love the cruise control, but the decel is a little annoying. When I get it Dyno'd and remapped(Pipes & Intake) I will talk with the tech about it and see if there is anything that can be done. Hope so.

Ride 30,000 miles a year with TBW and no issues. Added a show bike with carb and cannot tell any difference.

Well, I'll not give any reasons not to revert to the last-century's technology, except to simply call such an idea dumb...

Having owned touring HDs both before and after "TBW", the difference has been non-existent to me. IMO, if there's anything THAT unrideable about your bike, there's a maintenance issue to be addressed. It should be transparent.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but when I went to new bars (WO578) about a month ago, we-dealer ended up going with the CVO throttle by wire (longer, without the goofy green plug) Anyway, mine is now extremely touchy on any decel, and any bump for that matter... I do not remember this before...
