No man, I'm with ya - all the way, too. This ain't my first sound system rodeo, if you will.
What you don't understand is that audiophile (I am one) sound quality and motorcyles are mutually exclusive. You can have the cat's a$$ when it comes to D/A converters, but it's all wasted on a motorcycle because of secondary (wind) noise.
And not having USB capabilities does not automatically make the H-K a junk unit. Just burn a couple of MP3 discs (also known as a file storage device) and you're golden.
I've found that if better sound is the actual goal, quality earbuds are the answer. There'll still be some secondary noise but if you can get a good seal it'll shame any speaker/amp system.
Ya know, you have yourself a fine system there - I'm not bashing it. And conversely there's no need to trash the H-K I use.
That's all I'm sayin.........
I agree about high end audio and motorcyle audio being mutually exclusive. But I do believe that every little advantage you can have is worth it.
And I have been an audiophile for much longer than I've owned a bike.
If you are going to attempt to insult me, the least you can do is spell it right.
Shakey
You got me, I didn't spell oracle correctly. No attempt to insult, was just making a point that you could of helped the guy out instead of just telling him to trash his headunit without telling him what has worked for you, since you have been down that road before. Then let him make his own decision. Thats what I thought this forum was all about, riders helping riders when they have questions or problems that someone might have experienced before. Thats one of the biggest problems that I see, people come on needing help or have questions and getting answers with no solution at all, just random smart comments. But hey, its a forum right? If you thought I was dissin ya, sorry bout that, was just sayin.

WOW!!!! I have been on this forum for the last 5yrs and I too have noticed more and more bashing, or sarcasm if you will here lately, rather than bikers with knowledge helping out others on here who need it. I just don't get it. If someone asks me for help with ANYTHING that has to do with my Harley, and I have already experienced it, I'll be happy help them out, with no sarcasm. JMHO
