front fork rebuild

Default front fork rebuild
I have a 99 Electra Glide that was in a front end crash before I bought it. At that time apparently they changed the front forks out to 39mm forks. Or at least the lower cap is 39mm. It still has the air ajuster in it. Do I need to buy a 39mm rebuild kit? Also, can I buy a progressive spring lowering kit and do away with the air system?

Bump...need to order some parts. or if someone knows of another fourm that is more geared toward guys that work on bikes please point me in the right direction.
