Default Taking off Rineharts

I'm trying to take off my slip on Rineharts. One came off easily, but the other one won't rotate. It appears to have high temp RTV between the head pipe and muffler. Is there a trick to breaking that seal? I can move it left to right, but I'm wanting to twist it. Any ideas?

How about a thin feeler gauge? That's about as thin a piece of metal as I can think of that may go between the muffler and the pipe. Otherwise just more elbow grease than you've used so far.

You have to hold the ends of the muffler and rock it back and forth, no simple way if it's tight. The more you push on it the more it'll open the joint. Be careful and don't bend the pipes in front of it. Mine took about 20 min each and I've done this a few times.

Try twisting it with a strap wrench and some penetrant.

Left, right, up, down, left, right, up, down then PULL....Repeat as necessary.

You have to work it pretty much 360*

Haven't seen anyone with this yet, so here goes. You didn't say which one is being tough. If it's the right one, try placing something from the floor up to the joint that's been loosened. Something solid. Stack of wooden blocks. your floor jack, etc. Then push down on the end of the slipon that's been undone. If it's the left one, same thing, just be careful when you've gotten it to push down and decided to lift it back up. Watch your jiffy stand okay! Keep us posted.
