Can't blame you for thinking about it, been there myself a time or two. Just glad you didn't. You'd be a poster boy for the anti 2A crowd for life if you did.

Yeah, real smart. If all it takes is some jerk riding your *** for you to consider pulling your weapon, then you have no business carrying!

I guess the point I was trying to make is that we all think about chit we shouldn't sometimes. The only thing that matters and what we should be judged for is what we actually do. If I was judged about the stupid chit that crosses my mind on a regular basis, I would've been locked up for good by the time I was ten years old.
I have never been in a bike on bike accident YET, but I have been in some close calls with stupid riders. I had one day I was going home to visit my parents; I live just north of Jacksonville Florida and they live in Gulfport Mississippi, so it is a nice 8-9 hour ride. I was in the right hand lane of I-10 between Jacksonville and Tallahassee when this IDIOT on a sport bike came by me IN MY LANE doing around 100-115. I was cruising around 70-75 at the time and he shot past me like a rocket. I did get a good laugh because about 10 miles down the road he was on the side of the road with a cop giving him a "thorough" lecture. I don't even want to think of what would have happened if either/both of us would have gone down.
Anyway get well soon and keep the rubber side on the road.
Kind of amazing how stupid some folks can be:
(Notice: this guy was DOA) http://www.snopes.com/photos/accident/tulsacrash.asp
Plowed into the back of a moving semi at an estimated 120 mph.
I always try to remember how quickly things like this can happen to me when I'm out there.
Ride safe, Brothers!
I was rolling to a stop, less then 5 mph, at a 4 way light control intersection, with 45 deg turns instead of the usual 90 deg. turns. As I’m rolling to the stop, I hear this bike down shift; engine revs way up, sounds like a sportbike. It’s a hard corner to see traffic coming for the left, I look up trying to find which direction the bike is coming from. Just as I look left, this sportbike comes flying at me, just on his side of the double yellow line. About ˝ second later a second bike comes flying through, but this bike is over the double yellow and coming at me. I have no place to really go, I have the clutch in and both breaks on stopping for the red light. I don’t know how he missed me, his front tire came with in inches of mine. He had the bike leaned over hard, had he been up-right he would have hit me. The second bike had a female passenger on the back, sans helmet, as we passed her eyes were very wide and white. I think she thought they were going to hit me to. All I could think of was this is going to hurt, I hate being in the hospital.
... and after all that I about rear ended a bike tonight on the way home.
freeway, 4 lanes: hov/1/2/3
I'm in the #2 lane at 55 mph about 7 lengths in front of me
when a 'dude" on his purple imported wanna be cruiser straight pipe I got my leather vest with all the patches I bought at the same time...
wobbles into my lane from the left.
I'd estimate his speed at 40 MPH, no head turn, nothing ( nice full face helmet, dude) just wobbled in front of me in my big frigging pick up with the daylight running lights...he was maybe 40 feet in front when he came over.
ABS saved his life.
he then successfully managed a few more lane changes without looking or signaling
douche happens.
