I have had problems with my ABS light at times. There is a connector that comes from the front ABS under the Faring. I have to unplug this connector and spray it with electrical connector cleaner. For some reason this connector gets gummed up (could be because of the steering bearing lube). Anyway that normally works for me.
I've reviewed many of the ABS threads and found that most end up dead ended with no report on what the problem was. I'm hoping I can get some help here with my issue.
so did you find out what the problem was? or you gonna let this thread 'end up dead ended' as well?
Thanks for all the suggestions.
I put the stock wheels back on and the system works.
It must be the bearings.
Took the new wheels to my local indy and had new HD bearings installed and BINGO, that was the problem.
Just finished things up yesterday.
They must use some off shore bearings that are not compatible with the HD ABS system, however they look exactly the same. Orange on one side and green on the other. I didn't think until afterwards to have them note the numbers or ID markings on the bearings vs the HD ones.
Pisses me off that that they charge extra for ABS bearings and yet it cost me another $180 to have them replaced.
