Below is a photo of my scoot with a King Tourpak.
I have speaker pods, side marking LED's, Air Wing rack with smoked LED's run/brake lights.
What you don't see is that I have ONLY one plug to disconnect and it take me less then 10 seconds to turn my Ultra touring rig into a Hot Rod Bagger!
I even have room on this plug to add a supplemental 12V power port to charge cell phone, camera, ipod, etc.
I too didn't want to have a bunch of wires to disconnect, not to mention disconnecting every plug for LED's, speakers and taking a chance of them breaking and replacing them.

That is how my bike is. I have one harness I made with a factory connector that connects the side marker lights, as well as the run/brake/turn lights on the back of my ultra tour pak. It works great, and adds about 10 seconds more install/de-install time.
