Recently had a new tire put on the rear. I noticed a very slight bounce in the ride yesterday, so this morning I checked pressure front and rear. Front was at 35, rear was at 36. Seems low to me....I was running 40/40 on my Heritage.
What is the best on a Ultra Classic? Still 40/40? I think this is where my little bounce is coming from.
Thanks!

The spec for your bike is 36/36 cold for stock tires, so you're right where you should be. I personally run mine at 40/40 cold since I find that it makes the tires last a bit longer. The "bounce" you feel may be imbalance if it is occurring only at highway speeds. If not and you feel it at slower speeds you may have an out-of-round tire, but that's doubtful, or the tire could be installed improperly. I would take it back to the installer and complain.
It also depends on what brand tyres you have now. If you changed to another brand, the correct pressures may be different. In any event I learned long ago that adding a couple of psi seems to improve ride and handling, also reduce front tyre wear from braking.
IF you are not running stock tires """DON'T" JUST GO BUY WHAT THE "MANUAL " SAYS!
Different Tires/DIFFRENT BRANDS often run different max pressure .
Look at the sidewall and run it at the max pressure listed .
Your tires will last longer and your bike will handle better = SAFER !
My personal opinion is I run one or two pounds over listed max pressure for longer life .
RESULTS MY VARY !
Oh ya , spend a few extra buck$ for a quality air gage .
Throw the $1.99 one away.
Check your presure frequently .
PLEASE NO WINING FROM THE PRINCES AND THE PEA GUYS ABOUT FEELING EVERY CRACK IN THE ROAD WITH PROPERLY INFLATED TIRES
