And I always just used a 2x4. How low tech of me.

Not if you want to ever pre-load your springs. It's a biach to get them started with even 1" of pre-load.

Nice job. If I ever get around to making 1 I'll make like a clamshell that grips the slider, that way you can work with any harley lowers including the aftermarket ones.
