Default Service Manual differences

I know this is most likely a silly question, but I am going to ask anyways....

I received a service manual for my bike as a gift and it is the wrong year.
I have a 2000 Road King and received a 2001 service manual....

Are the two close enough or should I return it and get the right one.....

I would feel bad returning it....

Not sure of the difference between the 2 years, but I would exchange it for the correct one. Things happen, no need to feel bad. If they got you the wrong size shirt, I am sure you wouldn't fee bad exchanging it.

I am not an expert, I just play one on tv, lmao... If you have the touring manual, it should work. You can verify with your dealer (call) before you take the trip if needed. The manual for my bike covers a few years of touring bikes. I am guessing it is the same for yours.

I think you are safe to wofrom the 2001 book for your 2002 if for some reason you can't or don't want to return it.

The big difference in the touring platform turn of the century was changing from Magnetti Merelli Fuel Injection to Delphi and I believe 2002 is the 1st year for Delphi fuel injection. I believe by 2003 the touring platform had migrated to Delphi Engine Management including fuel and ignition. Not sure so somone chime in here...
