From strictly a CCW perspective,in Oklahoma if someone isthreateningyou with harm or attempting to steal your property you CAN shoot to kill, that'sa law here.

I've only been on one overnighter at a motel and we all chained our bikes together with some gorilla sized chain and all set out alarms. Didn't cover anything up.I would think there wouldbe safety in numbers because if oneor two idots decided to stealone of 10Harleys chained together and woke us up,they'd probably getgang-raped.

I have a Scorpio Alarm with a permeter sensor and a pager. Even with that I try to park near the room, or near something I can chain the bike to.

Stay in a small motel or motor court, ask for a handicapped room or suite and wheel her inside! Sleep tight

make sure your insurance is current, and then go to sleep. I used to worry about my bike, but hey, that's what I pay State Farm for!

Layers, layers, layers.

NOW - if you choose to protect your life/property(9mm or larger please ) I strongly suggest a visit to http://www.packing.org/

They havestate-by-state info on CCW at http://www.packing.org/state/that will help a LOT!!!!

This link leads to a "disclaimer" protected area (lawsuits abound) summary coveringall states...
http://www.packing.org/state/all_united_states/

Make sure of how states along your route treat your CCW (reciprococity laws vary).
Make sure of how states along your route treat felony prevention (is it okay for you to blast away? - maybe).

Had to cut one of those kryptonite cables once to get the gas cans off the trailer (forgot the keys) I was very surprised how quickly a hacksaw went through it. Tough name though.

Just find a room with a big enough door and pull the bike inside with you. I actually did this with some of the smaller standards and sportbikes I've owned. If my RK fits and I am in a shaddy area, it may just sleep with me that night.
