Inner Fairing Premature Failure
never had a marked problem like your and I live where it's sunny.
I use just soap and water.
no cleaners no chemicals no sprays.
Had a pal ruin my windscreen once with his magic bug and sap remover. He was trying to help a situation that I use a warm damp towel on

I can't imagine that a properly cleaned and maintained bike that is stored inside most of its life can show sunburn in less than 2 years. If peoples cars or trucks looked like crap in such a short time there would be h*ll to pay. People just wouldn't stand for it. I don't see why Harley owners should have lower expectations - our bikes cost more than some cars. Poor quality like I'm seeing is BS.
For the record, I do ride a lot but where I live we have months of winter (Almost 8 months this past winter) so Canadian bikes are not seeing the outdoors like a bike from the southern states - especially if they are being parked in a garage. Last year I crossed Canada and the States from coast to coast so the bike was outside for a month straight but that is not a normal year. Mostly my trips are local and the bike is back in the garage at night. Some weeks in the summer it never even sees daylight (Its been raining here for almost two weeks.).

I see you were using HD branded UV protecter.....If you still have it, check the ingredients. See if it's a water base product like Armor-All which is chit. It does not protect or last long, it basically only puts a nice shine on the surface.

You're from Canada - one thing I would like to point out living in NW WA is that we seldom appreciate how strong the UV exposure is in the northern latitudes but it's much stronger than further south in the Summer time.
There's a lot of cosmetic things I'd just love Harley to fix for me but I don't expect it to happen. Pitted chrome is a prime example - the chrome just doesn't seem to be up to snuff sometimes (quality is variable). Getting angry about it doesn't seem to help.

Ask all the jeep Gus about their fading black plastic. 6 months and it gets the white hue.....
Mine was white on top of the right side, a coat of the black renew and it looks like new. I apply it every two months or so.
