That happened to my CB antenna. Dealer replaced it under warranty. They told me, we have never heard of this before, lmoa, my azz it dont happen. I see that is bs now by reading this thread. If you want to keep the same antenna, maybe the dealer will do a goodwill for ya, replacement is round 40 bucks and used fleabay is cheap. never thought about going to a home improvement store, will have to remember that.
