rear speaker kits???
Hey!
Thanks for all the kudos you guys.....If you go to www.hogtunes.com/ultrasoundoverview.pdf you can read a direct comparison on our system vs the HD systems. I dont have an Ultra ....yet (08 coming in Sept), but I understand all the passenger can do from the switches on the rear pods is adjust the volume in the HEADSETS not the speakers. The fellow looking at HD system should check that before buying.
I did figure out how to turn the rearspeakers on for free....I wrote it into the offer when I bought the bike-"rear speakers must be active". Keep in mind if you add the HD kit you get 2 more stock speakers and no amp
Oh yeah--and no quick detach plugs..................Anyways--even if I did have a crack for the radio, you would still have to buy the Ultra overlay harness for $125 so the rears have a place to plug into the radio
Hope this helps eh.......PEZ
The rear controls on the speaker pods of the HarleyUltra control the HEADSET Volume, Push To Talk(PTT) for the CB/INTERCOM,(right side)and also alows the passanger to change the Modes(AM/FM/CD/Weather)by pushing in,and thenradio staions in AM/FM/Weather Mode and scroll tracks in the CD/MP3 Mode, by up and down(left side)
With the interconnect harness, you do also get Two quick detach plugs wired for that entire POD in one plug(one each POD)
Also you will find with your 08Ultra they have upped(doubled) theWatts to a 160 Watt system for 08 on the Ultra (40 per channel, instead of 20 per channel) So you should be able to just add your speakers to the system and have a real good sound onyour bad bear.
I have Pez's amp and rear speaker kit and am very happy with it except that the amp only powers the fronts. The rears run off the HD head unit. I can barely hear them and my passengers have noted little improvement in their ability to hear the tunes. If I was doing it over I'd go with the aftermarket Dragonfly rear encloseurs, cause they take a 6x9 speaker and an amp that was powering it all.
