I'm not aware of manufactures recommending a liquid remover but they do recommend 3m dry eraser wheel.

Either way it works. If I use a liquid I just use wd40

3M adhesive remover – plus one. Using it for years and still the best, but getting harder to purchase (EPA).

Blows my mind (although it shouldn't) how all the good stuff is becoming extinct!! The good wd40 formula is gone among other great things!!

I considered removing mine, but decided they might look better painted. It seems like it would be fairly easy to pull the entire latch cover off, tape off around the reflector, and just spray paint the reflector. Since my bike is black, the reflector painted black would just look like an insert that matches the rest of the bike.

+1
Only remove latch from bag and heat from the back side with a heat hun or blowdryer. The heat helps the sticky tape release and by heating the backside the metal transfers the heat better. Just dont ding your paint

Just looked up the wheel thing. Interesting. Have to pick one up. The liquid is good because you can apply it to the object you are trying o remove. For instance, the reflector in question. I'd set the bag on its side (because I found) and pour a small quantity of the solution around the edges then wait for a couple of minutes and pry up. The fluid tends to break down the adhesive in place.
