Has anyone had trouble with the 2007 street glide rattle at low speeds. It sounds like its loose, but checked and its not. Any advice would be helpful to correct this issue.
I had the dealer install driving lights when I purchased my 07SG, soon as I left the dealer I had--not quite a rattle more like a styrofoam ice chest lid squeaking (I know you all know what that sounds like) anyway they tried to blame it on me but the problem was where the handlebars disappear into the fairing one side was rubbing the plastic, maybe not the same sound you have but you might check. Theydid fix it.
Heard from a buddy thatthe rattle on his Ultra Classic fairing was cured when he went to Home Depot and purchased foam weather stipping with adhesive backing. He then lined the seam along the inside of the outer fairing with the stripping (out of sight), reassembled it, and the rattleceased.Said it was pretty easy to do. I've got thesame problem onmy SG and will givehis remedya try in the near future. Definitely worth a try and it doesn't cost much.
Mine just started after admittedly swapping out windshields many many times. I'm sure I've worn away the thin layer of insulation that was there. Other than a clatter at the left upper side of the fairing where the windshield mounts,I don't have any rattles. I'm dropping my SG off Monday morning to install Fatcats, 10k service, tires, brakes, etc. with this requested to be fixed. I've known the service manager for several years and he assured me they could fix it, but I know how those things go when it's on a list of several items. Taking the time to fix it isn't always top priority cause it will and does take some trial and error. As soon as they "think" it's gone away it will be deemed fixed. It's driving me crazy so I'll put my faith in them for for now, but will be looking for this or any other fix in the event they don't get it right. It doesn't sound like theres anything loose inside the fairing.
Just had the same problem resolved on my '06 SG. The bolt for the bracket that holds the inner fairing on was loose. Some on this forum have reported that their bracket broke and had to be replaced. I thought that was what was wrong with mine but as I said, it was only a loose bolt.

Runner...which bolt for which bracket that holds the inner fairing on are you referring to?

He is probably refering to the bolts that hold the black bracket (the one that is curved top to bottom on either side of the radio).
