These bolts that snap off, are the factory installed and torqued grade 8 bolts. It is not from incorrect torquing, or lack of loctite. It is a design that can't handle the extra weight of a Kury Peg. As stated earlier, on newer bikes, they upgraded the mount to 2 bolts, to prevent this from happening.

The Rivco Mount doesn't piggyback on the factory mount, it replaces it with a better design.

... and what about the bolts that are snapping off that don't have the Kuryakyn pegs mounted to the floorboards? ... There is a lot more to this than meets the eye ... Even Loctite and proper torque procedures can't/won't correct improper/substandard/counterfeit fasteners ... and that is a fact! As I stated earlier I've been through this and if you think that HD doesn't realize that there is a problem why would they provide parts for a bike that was out of warrany?

Here are some old threads about the grade 8 bolt shearing off, that holds the passenger floorboards on. Consistently someone will say you should have tightened it, loosened it, or had loctite on it. That is not why they shear off. They come from the factory that way. I think it happens more with the Kuryakyn adjustable pegs on, but I don't know that for sure.

On this thread Dawg explains about the upgraded passenger floorboard parts which do retrofit bikes after '93, and do have different parts numbers.

Your welcome. I got your check today, so we are all cool. Glad the floorboard is back on the road, instead of hanging on a peg in my garage.
