How does it work? And will it harm the paint and finish? I've been using the Harley Sunwash, but now that I have a Street Glide I am looking for easier way to get my bike clean. Thanks
I have used this before and the most important thing is keeping a clean filter so it doesn't leave any water spots. Not bad for the money, just seems to be easier to use a leaf blower to dry off the bike.
I've used it a couple of times on the new bike, and I LOVE IT. Initially got it for the truck, then decided to try it on the bike. No water spots and no damage to the finish. Of course, a little wax is always appreciated by the paint and chrome, but the Mr. Clean is great for when the bike is real dirty and you want to clean-and-go.
The washer unit has 3 settings, 1) regular water flow, 2) soapy water discharge and 3) fine water spray thru a water filter that removes minerals from the water. Minerals in the water are what cause water spots. It uses its own soap that you put into a reservoir. It is supposed to have additives that help the water sheet off the finish. You wet the bike, then spray with the soap. Wash the bike by hand and then rinse with the fine water spray. It dries spot free. The catch? You have to buy their soap and water filters. No harm to your finish.
I bought one the first week I brought the bike home, I,ve used it for almost 6 months. If the road oils, film&dirt is really bad on bottom of bike I use WD-40. Just let it soak for 15 min. then wash as per directions. I use a small hand held blower toget the water out and off the engine and tight places. I,m into wash and wear, The bike is made to ride, I dont want a show piece. Been there done that, I,m over that. LOL Dan
I have had mixed results but we have very nasty H2O. One thing I did find out is do not spray S100 first. Seems the 2 do not like eachother much. Left a nasty haze.
i swear by my Mr Clean Machine, I have even detailed out a couple of others bikes using it. 80 bucks and it takes me no time at all, its really a sweet deal, i'm going to do more of it this year.
I love it. Great labor saving device and leaves the bike looking like you detailed it if you do it right. I used to dry with a compressor but since I got the Mr. Clean no longer needed. I try to wash the bike when I know I won't be using it the rest of the day and let it dry overnight. Next morning not a spot, even the windshield looks like I just polished it. Well worth the $20 I paid AutoZone for it. On my Ultra, the soap lasts at least 20 washes and I change the water filter every 10 washes.
