Avon Cobra's? Difference between Bias & Radials

tj, I have ridden radials for almost 20 years. They tend to be used on lower profile tyres, which Harley is only just getting around to fitting, but other brands have been using them for a long time. My two Buell XBs have them, as well as my 2011 Sporty and they are no different to ride than any other bike tyres. Frankly I don't know how we might tell the difference! I am confident you will be fine.

From what I have gathered so far, no one seems to notice a significant difference between bias and radial bike tires while riding. I certainly don't know if there is a wear mileage difference either. Most radials I have seen in catalogs are nearly twice the price of the same tire in bias construction. Not only are radials not easily available on the road for a quick change, the same nail that ruins a less expensive bias tire will also ruin the more expensive radial. Trowing away a tire that is only 25% worn because of a nail is less painful with the less expensive tire. Why pay (and risk) more for no noticeable gain?
