2011 road glide custom.3,680 miles noticed the last couple of rides were in some traffic or long lights my battery light would come on and the gauge would be on the - side of 12volts.
so i take it to the dealer who sold me the bike.get there 7:30am 1st one there take me in when they open check it out 9:30am oh the stator has to be changed is said under warantee take care of it.come back 11am well it's still not right so they're going to change the regulator i said ok. comes back to me 11:45am and tells me that didn't fix it and then wants to blame my medallion gauges???? like no they're not the problem.so they said when we changed the stator we didn't change the hub/rotor so we are going to change that,So around 2:30pm they said ok good to go.....i said see ya!
As long as you're good now that is the bottom line. BUT... It doesn't sound like they're giving you the straight scoop (and it's entirely possible that they don't even know the straight scoop). By your description, the hub/rotor was the problem. That is just not very likely. The hub/rotor is simply a chunk of steel with some magnets bonded to it. There is really nothing that can go wrong with it short of the magnet(s) falling off and that is easily identified with a visual inspection and would have been seen during the initial stator replacement.

YES that's why they didn't change it the 1st time they had it apart they said that is the only reason to change that out,but all i know that after they did that it's charging like it should.been raining since so haven't taken it out and it hasn't shorten out and went on fire yet either.]dealer made good for it they loan me a fatboy to go get something to eat !
If there was something physically wrong with the rotor, they would have seen that when they took it off of the stator. Like 2Blacks said, unless it lost it's magnetism or even some of the magnets, there is nothing to go wrong with the rotor.
Those guys are milking the Motor Company for warranty work...that's what I am thinking.
Best thing is that you got a loaner, and you are back on the road good as new.
