Don't forget to save some money for gas, you're going to need it for all the miles you'll be riding.

The tour pak is just too much stuff for me although someday I'm sure i'll want it. Great rate at the local credit union too.
I'll pick it up tomorrow afternoon!
Great choice, of course I am bias. I did order a TP for mine for those long road trips.

That still gives you time to go with a SG. Haha. Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the touring section. I went from a Fatbob to my SG. I have no regrets at all. Some people say they are too big or heavy for running around local. That is B.S. They handle awesome.

I am having a hard time understanding this: " It seems like a great choice for the combo of short and longer two up rides the wife and I take without getting too huge!"

What is "more huger" than a touring Harley? When my son, who rides a Road Glide Ultra, takes my Road King around the block, he says it feels like a bicycle compared to his machine. The few times I have ridden his, it seems to take a bit more effort to erect it off the jiffy stand but it doesn't seem any bigger while riding it. We have a lot of wind in Oklahoma and he chose the Road Glide based on its relative immunity to wind gusts with the fixed fairing. Perhaps it is the windshield catching the wind on mine that makes mine feel lighter to him. At any rate, they are both about as big as you can go with Harley.

Went from an 09 Fatbob to the RG, best move I could have made. Have fun with it and post some pics.
