Just wrapped up putting on my Klock Werks Ergo Back bars.
Phew.
Nothing like 4-5 hours of praying to god your not gonna F something up.
Nothing like having everything 90 percent back together and realizing the bars are not quite centered.
Nothing like trying to remember (for the 20th time) how that damn key switch comes off, and searching for the instructions.
Nothing like misplacing ever damn tool 10 seconds after you used it.
Nothing like realizing how damn dirty the bike is, under the glare of work lights in the garage at nite.
Nothing like realizing you just backed the bike up a foot or so, and rolled the front tire into the puddle of clutch lube that leaked out of the adjuster coupling (figured Id lube the cable as long as it was off)
Nothing like remembering, after its too late, that you DONT have to unbolt the radio from the bracket, you can just tip the whole dang inner fairing forward.
Nothing like trying to get those radio bolts back in, totally blind, fingers mashed, swearing profusely.
Nothing like seeing that the stock clutch cable seem to be too tight at a full lock right turn, but then remember you backed off the adjuster all the way.
Nothing like grabbing that bolt of the shelf, and realizing your hand brushed the clutch pin circlip off the shelf and onto the floor somewhere.
BUT......
Nothing like having it all back together, and everything still works.
As a matter of record, the Ergo back bars DO work with NO cable or wiring changes needed.
Road test tomorrow, but Im really liking the feel in the garage. Think Im gonna be very happy.
Now, Im going to go drink heavily.

Ergo back bars
I put these on my 05 EG Standard about 6 months ago, had a lot of the fun things you had also. To those thinking about these bars, I didn't like the clutch cable so tight, put in a +4, much better. I had to bend the brake line some , as it was tight also and the angle was different. The bars are wider than stock and the wrist angle is straighter. Took some getting used to the angle. I'm a little long of tooth and have some arthritus in my thumbs, didn't bother on stock bars, but some days with the Ergos I'm eating ibuprofen. All in all I like the bars and that they are closer to me.
