I currently have a Michelin Commander II on the front and Metzeler ME880 on the rear of my 2011 E-Glide Classic. They were on when purchased. Time for a new rear tire, front still good. Not sure what to go to. Main 3 choices are Commander II, ME880, or the new ME888. I am open to other suggestions!!!
I'm actually having new tires installed tomorrow, I'm going with the OEM Dunlops. This will be my 2nd replacement pair and I am getting 20K miles out of the rear (but like changing both) I ride everyday rain or shine and as long as there is no snow or ice and these tires have not let me down...

just my 2 cents...
Thanks, but which Dunlop did you get? Harley offers at least 2 for touring models.
Commander II. As far as Metzeler's we sell plenty from Brazil and have had a very few issues. We probably sell at least 10 Metzelers a day. Granted the bike already has a Michelin front get the Michelin's. Just put a set on my ride and they are smooth and sticky.
I just put Michelin Commander IIs on mine. If the front still has life on it, I would just put a Michelin on the rear. First time for michelin's for me so can't talk much to how much life, but read nothing but good things prior to buying.

20,000 miles on a rear tire.....on a touring bike??? That's amazing. Are the roads in your neck of the woods covered in marshmallows?
I just put a set of the new Metzeler's 888 on my Ultra. Had the Dunlop E3 on the rear and got 11,500 mi. out of that one. Way too early to tell on the new 888's as far as mileage goes. I will say they are a tad harsher on some of the lesser quality highways around here, but no complaints on the twisties as I've put about 300 miles on 'em. The fact that they seem harder on the highway should be a good indicator of better longevity. I'm hoping.
