Default Question on Removing outer fairing on Ultra Classic.

Is there enough room to tilt the fairing to disconnect the headlight without removing the running/signal light bar? The bike is a 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Classic.

On my 2005 there is and I assuming the same should be true for yours.

Good luck.

It will come off.
tip: slide a sock over each spot light for a layer of protection

a little tip, remove the windshield first. If it falls off it will scratch VERY easy.

Agree with Journeyman. Just had mine off 2011 Ultra to adjust bars and put a couple of new speakers in. Its a tight fit and fairing has to be pulled out against lights. Be careful with the 7 screw inserts in the fairing as they strip easily. HD sells replacement inserts if one spins in the plastic. A trick is to leave the middle windshield screw in but loose until all the rest are out so you do not drop fairing. May want a pad on fender as well.

If your proves to be like mine, the headlamp connectors appeared to be super glued on to the bulbs in mine. It was a real pita to get them loose!

Also helps to use a Torx Bit Driver with screwdriver type handle rather than an allen type wrench. Getting to the (4) screws on the inner fairing will be soooo much easier.

First question: Are you just trying to disconnect the headlight, or do you want to remove your fairing?

Just a heads up: If you want to remove your headlight, it's easier to use a phillips screwdriver and just remove the headlight:
1 phillips screw for the trim ring
3 phillips screws to remove the headlight.

It's then very easy to unplug the headlight.
