Default Burly apes and cable kit

I'm looking to put burly apes on Sally using their cable kit, called HD to ask about labor and they were crazy high as expected. Wanted to know if anyone has used this set up and if so how was it. I'm decently inclined mechanically and got the manual so think I should be alright, just didnt know if anyone had done this and if they might have any suggestions that may help.

Thanks
Diesel

well i dont have the burly apes but labor at the dealer is like $75 per hour first off. second how high of apes are you doing with because well anything over 10" apes really needs to have the wiring extended. but if they have a "kit" everything you need should be in there im guessing without looking and there kits. i would just remember if you decide to do this yourself and do not buy everything from the dealer and run into trouble they may not help you out. i have my dealer wire my bars for me then did everything else myself(my bars are internally wired). id change your handle bar bushings as well to the poly bushing.

Heat shrink and solder the wiring connections as they can come apart when you are pulling the wires through the bars. I think the Burly kit comes with wiring extensions and cables.

I"ve done two SGs with apes, long tedious PITA job. I suspect they wanted at least 5 hours labor. If you are goin to put a painted inner fairing on, now is the time to do that as well.
