Default EG UC 2008 Harsh ride.

Post #4 Two questions. Noobie to HD Forums

My 2008 Ultra 37,000 miles, has a very harsh ride whether solo (I weigh 210#), or with the wife along (add 140#). I referring to crossing bumps often found in repairing asphalt cracks. Adding removing air in the shock makes no difference. Any advice besides throwing a thousand dollars at the problem? Advice appreciated.

Is this thread sponsored by Harley Davidson?

It oughta be, they gotta be makin a fortune onRKC parts ya know!?!

Great bikes, love the look just couldn't see spending the 70K on a bike so my ol lady spoke up and told me to buy the pretty one in the corner, another 12,000 USD for the upgrade but it was worth it.

I kinda feel like I got a mini-classic, 1200XLC. It aint in the same league but I ride daily and love it, new pics soon.

Regards to all.

Default EG UC seat

Just got a 2008 ElectraGlide Ultra Classic, 37000 miles.

Would like to change the seating position resulting an a better knee angle (less bend), or as if I could slide an inch or two farther back.

History of surgery on each knee. They work, just not young anymore.

Advice appreciated...

Thanks Slider, with that I could keep the same style turn signals all the way round.

Well turn a classic into a classic - here is my attempt at turning an ultra classic into a old school retro machine.

I have included the video I made today just because I have done so much over the winter to it, that it would be boring as hell as list it - but then again maybe the video will bore you more I don't know....

I took a lot of inspiration from this forum I have to tell you - Everyone has really cool idea's - this is my take on what my ride should be.

Tumbleweed...welcome to the forum. Many of the answers to your questions will be found in the general Touring Bike thread. This particular thread is kind of for those who own Road King Classics, or other bikes which their owners are modifying towards 'nostalgic' looks. I think you'll find a bigger audience when you cast your net in the larger pool. Good luck with your search and ride safe!

Thanks Whiskers - George did do a great job with this project. He absolutely nailed my vision. I have 82k on my 2007 ride, pound close to 20 per year on it and I do ride it like I stole it! Part of my enjoyment is taking care of it. This is my first ride, and I have no intention on changing it out anytime soon.

I understand that the RKC is being discontinued in '14. Sucks as I wanted to add one of these to the stable when finances permitted. Keep 'em looking good guys. Very nice mods on here. Cheers.

Well, reading through this thread has inspired me. I know I have a ways to go to catch up, starting with a standard rather than a classic, but I took my first baby step this weekend. Added some Fish Tail end caps. On the list of need to do soon is new handlebars. In keeping with the "look" I am leaning toward some RK II bars. New rims, WWWs... sigh the list goes on lol Eventually I'd like to add some white, using my dad's buick as inspiration....
