New rims, WWWs... sigh the list goes on lol Eventually I'd like to add some white, using my dad's buick as inspiration....

Wow, Buick-izing your bike is a brilliant idea. The hard bags give you more paint surface to play with, so you can mimick the curves of the white areas. That will be a hot bike once it's done.

Pick the bars based on comfort, not looks. Pick the grips based on looks.

Oooo, nice. Some white pearl would look VERY good on that bike following the lines on the Buick. Looking forward to seeing it.

Hmm... I initially thought birch white, but I like the idea of white pearl!

True. Sad.
(Glad I own one.)
On the other hand, you could still buy a regular RK, get wire rims & white-walls, plus leather saddle bags & voila: Almost a Classic!

This is true. I'm learning to appreciate the standard RK more and more. Was put off by the hard bags but they're growing on me.

I love your idea ...IMO, I would lead towards birch white or antique white to keep that old school look

I have a suspicion that since HD is cancelling the RKC, that the Road King Standard will become Harley's first touring model to be in the Factory Customization Program. Wouldn't it be great to pick out the wheels, tires (WWW), color, bags (hard or soft), and handlebars? Yep, makes sense to me! Make one model, have the customer "customize" it to his liking, and have only one model to sell. I have NO inside info, just what my gut is telling me.

Amazing color! Love the Buick and your thought on using it as inspiration for your design!
