Still undecided on guard rails for the bags...but I do think I want them.
I'm glad it all worked out with the exchange of the Motherwell rack. Did they ever say why you got a blem?
About the guard rails....just remember the rails for hard bag RK's are distinctly different than those for the leather RKC bags. I've seen a few here who thought they were ordering one thing and ended up with another. Ride safe!

Nope, they didn't have an answer for me, but they were easy to deal with and promised to eyeball the replacement before shipping. There was actually a post-it note on the replacement, so I do believe they had a look before shipping it to me. And the replacement's box was like new as well. All in all it cost me a week or two, so not an issue.
I very well may end up with painted hard bags down the road, would the hard bag rails work with both types of bags?

The rails on the leather bags are rounded at the corners while those for hard bags have a sharper 90d bend. I've seen one or the other on different bags and you can tell by the way they fit that they were not for those bags. They'll probably fit but just won't look right.
I went with the eyebrows on the lights and the over all classic chrome treatment. Rear passenger floor boards chrome with the old school HD logos. No skulls, No flames, No crazy bullshit as they didnt have that stuff in the 40-50's . I could of done the fish tails but I never liked the look of chrome *****'s on the end of my pipes. I guess the only thing that could be considered "NEW looking" would be the hypercharger but there again its not over the top. Nothing flashy but understated cool.
