Default Wards cooling fan

What is the thermal creep switch option that is listed on the deposit form?

It is the thermal switch that makes the fan come on when the bike reaches a certain temperature instead of you controlling it all the time.

Gonna run it off acc.switch on my RK...Might it be suggested to have it?..Where might it be located (I'm assuming in order to sense temps.)

I believe you stick it in between a couple of the cooling fins on your jug. To me, I think it would be worth it to have the thermal switch. You can still keep the circuit on your accessory switch, just that when your switch is "On" the fans are controlled by the thermal switch. It will make cooling that much more consistent and you don't have to worry about leaving the switch "On".

You def want the Thermal Switch. It fits in between the cooling fins at the rear portion of the front cylinder head. The life expectancy of the fans is much longer if they run on their own. You turning them off because you think you dont need them (on a cool day for example), actually shortens the life of the fan motors because they are then subjected to the heat of the motor. These fans have a very long life-span, but that assumes they are used properly. The fans actually cool themselves when they run, hence keeping not only the cylinder heads cooler, but the fans themselves are also cooled in the process.

IMHO leave the fans "on" all the time, use the thermal switch and let it operate on and off as needed. This will lend to trouble-free operation and the long life of the fans.

They need to be on an unswitched power supply, meaning powered all the time. Mine cycles 2-3 times after shutting off the ignition.

Get the thermal switch and get the connector for the un-switched 'B' connector located under the seat near your accessory connector. there is no need to use your ACC switch as there is a switch on the fan.

I got my fan about a week ago. I have it installed, but not the thermal switch. I think if I can get myself in the habit of turning it on and off, it might be better? My thinking is to not wait until it hits a certain temp as it's easier to keep cool than cool down? So, I've been turning it on every time and turning off after I take my helmet and gloves off, and get my wallet, and whatever else I have with me. (laptop, cell, etc.) gives it a minute to keep running, and believe me, i'll never "forget" it's on, it's pretty loud, based on the amount of air it's moving.
