I was riding home the other day when all the sudden the bike shut off! I lost total power...no lights or anything. After about 10 mins it started right back up like nothing happened! Anybody had this problem? Luckily I wasn't on the interstate at the time...coulda been bad!
It happened on my '07 low rider several times.
Turned out I had corrosion build up on my fuses. Cleaned them off with a wire brush, and never had that problem again.
It eventually drained my battery and I had to keep jumping it after letting it sit for a while. (only a few hours, at work or w/e)
I'd check fuses and battery first. Since they're the easiest things to check out.
sep, if your still riding your 02 E-glide check the connections at your circuit breaker and the ring terminals attached to them.
Check your battery connections at the battery and then the connections at your starter as well.
Would your radio die and no lights be part of the symptom?
Would the needle on your speedo be stuck around the 40 MPH mark regardless of the speed?
Shoot me a pm and I can offer a few more tips IF ANY of this Sounds Like Your Troubles.
Rob
Thanks for all the tips! The whole bike would die.....almost like someone threw a switch. I also heard about a recall for that on my bike...anybody know how to find that out and who I need to call to see if its been done?
You used to be able to put the VIN in on the HD website to see if recalls have been done, I don't know if it is still there or not with the redesign of the site.
I bet it is the main circuit breaker , and ring terminals.

What do the main breaker and ring terminals look like?
What do the main breaker and ring terminals look like?
The Main Circuit breaker is in front of the battery, with two posts on it, it will look something like this, on an older touring bike http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/COO...&cm_vc=IDPRRZ1
The ring terminals that go on the posts of that circuit breaker can create a lot of resistance, and cause the Circuit breaker to trip.
Get a new circuit breaker from the dealer, and then go to an auto parts store, and get some new crimp on ring terminals, the more material to the ring the better so it doesn't heat up as fast.
