Bike shut off while riding!

Sounds like a problem I had on my 03 Fatboy. It would cut out while riding down the road and sometimes it would not let the bike start. The tank console switch (Acc, Off, ON) had to be taken apart, cleaned and reassembled. The springs and ball bearings inside got a case of the cruds about every 2 years so I would take it apart, clean it and put some more dielectric grease in there.
I know the switch on a touring bike is different from a softtail, but it could point you in the right direction.
