Ditto here. Wrong bolt in battery terminal allowing terminal to lose contact intermittently.

Early Twin Cam models had a recall for the tip over switch bracket breaking and the tip over triggering on turns.

The terminals inside the ignitions switch can also become pitted and lose contact. Happened to mine. I disassembled the switch, cleaned the contacts, and actually moved the one from Accessory side over to Ignition side because it was burned so badly. Haven't had a problem since I did that 3 years ago...

02 and 03 bikes could have the wiring harness short out on the frame. It is a three piece harness, I don't remember which one or where. Do a search on here

This happened to my wife's 06 Sportster 1200, ended up being a cracked/broken wire near the seat. Indy said it had a pretty tight loop tight under there and the wire was bent too sharply, eventually cracking. He replaced the wire, eased the entire loop a bit, and all has been good for about two years now.
