Default Pic request

I've spent some times searching different terms but didn't find what I'm looking for.

Installed the side smoked led running lights on my king tour pack, bike is a street glide so need to run wires to my detachable tour pack. I'm wondering if anyone has some pics of where they drilled the hole in the tour pack and how the wiring is routed from tour pack to existing wiring. Trying to figure out how to run it without wearing paint.

Hoped to check a bike at work today as a few guys have Ultras but none took their bikes in today.

Thanks for any help!

...when I installed side lights on my EG Classic tourpak, the instructions told me where to drill and how big a hole.

I have those instructions and have all that installed. I need to connect that harness to the bike now and am looking for info on running the power from bike to tour pack. I know where the ground and running light power is but am unsure how people are running the wires to look clean and not screw up the paint.

Just run the tour pak harness wiring next to the antenna cable, zip tie it with small zip ties and be done. HD has been doing that for years.

like he said...I figured that was so obvious that you must have been talking about the holes for the side light wires them selves.

If you feel you need to enlarge the ant hole or drill new holes through paint, put masking tape over the painted surface and drill from the outside in to minimise chances of the paint being marred.

Your drilling through plastic, it will not screw up the paint. If you have a step drill bit, start small and keep going until you can get the wires through. Use some clear silicone to seal the hole once finished. Also, do yourself a favor and put a connector on the wires going into the tourpak so you can remove the tourpak if need be in the future. I ran wires through both sides of my tourpak......with the backrest pad, you can hardly see where they enter.

What a rude response, and contradictory to your original post asking about where to drill the hole that, apparently, you already had drilled.

Many people buy parts that don't include instructions, and mkguitar was thoughtful to provide a link to the HD instructions. Your thoughtless response was to say you already have them. Most folks would at least say "thanks."

If you read my question I said I installed the lights and am trying to run the wire from the tour pack to the bike now.

As for being obvious, I have a street glide and the tour pack is one that had no antennas so all holes are new. The light holes had a nice X on the tour pack but didn't notice one for the wiring. In the instructions it shows the antenna wiring exiting however the electrical routing goes back under the steel plate which I guess is just another hole, on the other side of the bracket.

I thought maybe it was tucked in nice out of sight however I now see it really does run in the open along that chrome filler piece.

Connector is a good idea and I was able to find a deutch connector with 2 pins. Will be nice for removal.

After all these mods I really should have bought an Electra Glide and just lowered it. Be ahead on money.

Nah, your doing the right thing...You have a sexy, sleek bike without all the extra bling hanging off the fenders and bags...and now you have extra storage that can removed in minutes if need be...
