I posted a thread recently, asking if anyone had purchased or used something like the Harley Davidson Waterproof Inner Fairing Cover that's listed on eBay. I recently ordered one and will post an update when I get it. Seemed like a good idea when parking in the rain. Yeah, it rains once in awhile here in California.
On a couple of previous Ultra's I had, the water seemed to get inside a few of the gauges and fogged up from that point on every time the weather temps dropped.
I recently received the Harley-Davidson Waterproof Inner Fairing Cover that I had ordered from a seller on eBay. Pretty nice quality and construction. I'd say not only is it good when parking in the rain, but in hot weather where I have to park in the direct sun, I'll use it to protect the gauges. My area of California gets a lot more hot weather than rain, so it's probably more practical for me to use it to keep the gauges, stereo and inner fairing from getting trashed by the sun. Seems that the first thing to discolor on my bikes is the inner fairing.
Also, some people have complained about getting everything wet when washing the bike, including the fairing speakers; seems that this would do a pretty good job in protecting all of those components from getting soaked when washing the bike.
