I have a 2012 road glide with V&H pipes but they are still not as loud as ii would like them. Short of getting new pipes someone said replace baffles with big city thunder baffles. Thought? TIA
Same problem here! I have V&H twin slash rounds and even gutted my head pipe and it isn't much better. I hate the way these new bikes sound. My 06 88" sounded way better IMO. Just don't have the coin to buy a complete TD setup right now. I'm feeling your pain brother!
theres as cycle shack and fullsac performance baffels both stock muffs or cvo ive got fullsac cvo 1 3/4 cores in cvo mufflers they make 1 3/4"-2"-2 1/2". im still out on the packing I bought 4 stroke packing down at the rice store it lasted bout a 1000 mi looking for something else got a ear prob so want quieter. bud
Thats what I've been wanting to do with my 2012 RGU. Could you elaborate on how you did yours or give us a link to some detailed instructions?
Thanks,
Sorry for the delay, I decided to cut mine after checking out a buddies exhaust after he got his back from swapping them (i won't mention their name at this time). I don't remeber what he paid for them but it was more than i was willing to pay for something i knew i could do myself. I used a dremel with a few cut off wheels and i started cutting about 1 inch or less behind the weld. One of the baffles slid right out, but the other took a little bending on what i had cut to clear it. After pulling them out it just looked like an aftermarket exhaust inside, like a screen holding back what looked like some fiberglass insulation. I have pictures somewhere but it was pretty easy to do as long as you don't rush it, i hope this helps out.
