Our dealer gives 15% on parts and motor clothes. I have AT&T so more than pays for my membership with the cell phone plan discount. I've met some great folks who share my love of riding and wouldn't miss a club meeting. Many outings and rides through out the year. Check out your local club you may be surprised. Enjoy the mag also.

I'm not renewing, been paying 5 years. Yesterday my clutch cable broke 75 miles from home. Called for a tow, and after 3 hrs on the side of the road HOG said they had someone an hour away. Then informed they would tow me to a dealer closed that day. Asked to be towed to an open dealer (50 miles), and was told it would be $350. So I called a local tow company and got a tow home for $180.

Lynard Skynard at the 110th for HOG members only. Worth it on top of everything else! Local chapter (Iron Horse) not very welcoming and the stealer wouldn't discount a blade of grass.

Sounds like there's lots of cool stuff. I'll have to check it out more when I'm home. Anyone know if Verizon offers a discount? Got my family plan through them.

Like many things that are offered. You get out of them what you want. If you never use the motel/hotel discounts, the roadside assistance, discounts from insurance companies, etc. Then it's a good chance you will not consider it a good investment. On the other hand, if you get discounts from your local dealer (usually dealer where bike was purchased), insurance and so on. It looks like a decent deal. So....what do you think you'll actually get out of it? Answer that and you have your solution.

I've kept it for the roadside assistance and get the roadamerica upgrade every year. Used it once a few years back for a flat tire coming back from Sturgis that would've cost me $500. If you ride a lot, especially in remote areas it's worth it just for the towing. If I just rode a few miles around town I'd wouldn't bother with the upgrade. The only other times I've used HOG is in Sturgis every year at their bike wash. Park it in the cool down area then walk around town for awhile, when I get back it gets a bath and I ride out of town with a bike that looks like it came off a trailer.

Can anyone tell me what the real benefit to being in HOG is?
HOG membership gets you a discount on your cell phone bill if you're with AT&T. It saves me $17 a month ( that's about $204 a year ). Whether you take advantage of any of the other "bennies" or not, the AT&T discount is more than worth it by itself.

I renew national membership, but not the local. The AT&T discount alone pays for the membership and then some. I also enjoy the quarterly magazine, and i like the pins and patches, atlas and games. I ave towing with my insurance, so that is not a big benefit to me. (In the 3 years I owned my bike, I have not had to tow it anywhere)

The local HOG chapter has some events, but nothing to enticing, If I knew more people involved, I would probably spend the extra $ for the local membership.

I had it off and on for a number of years. I recently got a new bike and got another free one year. My question, i actually signed up for the mileage program and it says you can earn the mileage mediallians. Anyone know what these look like or have a picture. I want a 100,000 for my bike. Curious if they are crap before i pay for years of hog for it. Thanks
