Anybody currently using or have used the HD Passenger Grab Rail (p/n 97026-09) on a bike with hard saddlebags? What are your thoughts and experiences on function, form, etc.?
thought about putting them on my 2012 Street Glide. Oddly enough, my local dealer had a set in stock. Parts guy let me unbox them and test fit on the bike. Thought they looked lame so decided to do without.

My 1986 FL had the grab rail and I used it all the time to tie stuff to the back seat. I installed a black grab rail on my 2010 and it works great, just like the 1986.
The black rail blends well with the seat incase you don’t want more chrome. Having a semi-blacked out Ultra doesn't hurt too.
I put them on the Ultra with the decorative covers. OL never uses them though they are not in her way. I have used them for tie-down points and to lift the bike off the ground when it tipped over. They look ok on an Ultra, in my opinion. Goes with all the other extra-jumbo stuff...
I bought a set in black. I usually like the chrome accessories, but since I like taking the Tour Pak off, I wanted it to blend in with the seat.
Wife likes them. They give her something to hold on to when the road gets rough. Can barely see them, but I have a black bike. They blend in really well.
