Default Damn high pitched squeal at stops

Wife's got an 02 Fatboy and the bike squeeks or squeals coming to a stop. Just got the bike back today after having a new rear tire, rear sproket, and shocks. The sound was there prior to the work that was completed, hoped it would go away but didn't. It sounds like it is coming from the rear of the bike, maybe the belt, but the belt is in great shape. Any ideas from you all? Would appreciate it.

Rear brake pads. My Road King does the same thing on occasion. A little disc brake quiet on the back of the pads should fix it.

Usually it's common practice for the service guys at HD to test ride a bike after service, tire changes , etc. You think they would have heard it too and looked into it with your permission.

Basically the squeal on braking comes from brake rotors that are non-floating rotors. The new bikes all have floating rotors. The fix is to switch out to floating rotors and the squeal will be gone.

This was a very common problem that Harley would not take care of. You ended up replacing the rotors yourself at your cost. Ask me how I know.

If the brake pads are good, I would try the anti-squeal grease on the back of the pad where it contacts the piston, scuff the pad to get the glazing off of it and clean the caliber with brake cleaner. I wouldnt throw new pads and rotors on it before trying that first.

mine has a bit of a squeek too once in awhile, just started at 10000 miles. it sounds a little like the break pad wear indicators "chirp" the cars have. i too just got it out from the dealer after 10000 mile service. its not every time but i'm gonna have to check those pads and get something to quiet the disc brake if it keeps it up.
