Leave it on all the time or cut it off when you stop, no big deal. It is a bit of a stretch to cut it on with your thumb but I am used to mine now.

I agree with Whiskyjock, if it's a button I gotta push it! I figure if there is an off position, it should be used so I set all off when I shut down. I don't turn it on in town or on twisties, no need. But having the switch on the right with an empty spot on the left is stupid oversight by Harley engineers. (Sometimes I wonder if they ride.......) No problem though, just pop the blank cover, move the switch. Its on my list of things to do.

I don't think it was an oversight. On the Ultras there are no empty spots on the left. The spotlights are in position #1 and the selector switch for the audio system is in position#2, with the Cruise & ACC switches on the right side. Since the base wiring harness and the service manuals are the same, it makes no sense to reverse switches on models that are lacking a few options. It just keeps a standard dash layout, but like you said it's easy for the owner to change.

I think some of you are getting lazy. It ain't like you are reaching to your right grip with your left hand. The switch is just to the right of center of the steering head.
