will this method for changing the fork oil work on the left cartridge tube type forks also?? mine is a 2005 ultra classic,, and this would be better for me than removing the left fork all the way off ,,.
mine has a cartridge in the keft side as the book says,.
thanks
That is how I did mine on my 06, should be the same.
how long did it take for the oil to get in there for the left side?? did you have to pump he forks to get it all out of the left tube?? how much oil did you go back with?? 10.8 is what the book calls for,, or did you just measure what you took out and refill that amount??
thanks

Neither side took to long. I did one side at a time, I pumped the forks to make sure I got everything out, really didn't need to. Nothing else came out after the initial draining.
I measured with a measuring cup that had ml. The manual give oz and ml. So I put I what it called for. When I put in in I put 50ml at a time and pumped after each until you couldn't hear is suck it in.
I use the SE heavy fork oil. I am very happy with the results, feels and handles notably better.
I believe the 05 was the last year for the cartridge so you might do some more research. I had the internals replaced on mine last year to get eliminate this problem.

hi is an 2006 ultra ,,, they also had the cartridge,,didn't they?? or only the 2005 had the cartridge??
on the cartridge side cant you just put a little air thru the top to get all the oil out ,, instead of pumping it?? and add the oil a little at a time like 4 oz. and pump it back in by using the front braks??
thanks
Best look on Ronnie's parts fiche, there is a difference between the 06 and 05, I've been looking at getting this done but it seems unlcear what we need to do for the left side cartridge tube? Im not onto tearing the fork off if I don't need to.
