Seriously guys? The strap is technically there for the passenger to hold on to...

They sure are strict over there. I would like to know though how MoCo would know if I remove the tags from my mattress?

1. I ride solo 100%. The only purpose of the strap is a passenger hand hold. A Ultra with back rest has no need for one.
2. As I said I am lazy and no way would I settle for the effort to access under the seat.
3. Steal the stock seat that I have farted in for three years now ( I'm 73 so some may have had moisture in them)? Go ahead no big deal. I don't even insure the bikes. Someone takes one I just get to go and get a new shiny pretty (click on my garage).
4. My bike - my way.
5. End of story.

I've been riding since 1969 and can't remember an instance where someone actually held on to the stupid strap. If your OL wants to hold the strap instead of you, find a new OL.

Mine came off when I upgraded to the Hammock seat. Its still with the old seat, if I ever switch back it goes back on. I liked the look of the strap, impractical as it was. But its no longer a fit on the new saddle.

TKDKurt- I don't think anyone ever used mine either but I was clearing up confusion in previous posts. On mine if I remove it there are two gaping holes in the seat so I folded the tabs under and screwed them to the plastic seat pan. Strap still there, but I don't have to unbolt it to remove the seat.

I actually use that strap. In my line of work in the summer I can go through two or three shirts in a day sweating my azz off. Instead of tossing dirty, smelly shirts in my TP, I tuck them under that strap for the ride home.

First thing I did when I got my bike home was unbolt mine and throw it in the back of the closet.
