Default When I turn left or right...

I been scraping my boards about 85% of the time. Am i turning in correctly? Should I be worried that there are going to catch on to something?

The boards will grind down in time. More so the left side is more prone to scrape than the right. First the black floorboard support bracket will grind down a little then the floor board itself will grind in.

Watch for weak kickstand spring when the kickstand is up and the spring gets weak it will allow the kickstand foot to drag down as you turn or bank left. I go through a spring a year almost.

Do you just lean into your corners or are you counter steering as well? If all your doing is leaning into the turns you will find yourself leaning to a greater angle than if you are also counter steering.

If your not counter steering give it a try, it will greatly increase your bike responsiveness and ability to hold a line in a corner. As you enter the corner push into the bars on the side that is the direction that you want to go. So for a right turn , push into the right side grip as you lean into the corner.

Any agressive riding will cause the boards to scrape, but 85% of the time is a lot

You would actually scrape less if you shifted your body weight more to the inside of the turns. You need to lean the bike farther if your combined center of gravity is too high. If you are keeping your body weight too upright the bike has to lean much farther over to hold the turn.
Yes, it is possible to lean so far that you start dragging hard parts and lever your wheels off the ground.
There is lots of info out there on cornering and center of gravity. Lee Parks wrote a very good book on it.

Is your bike lowered? Scraping 85% of the time is a bit much, unless you're road racing the bike...

Hopefully you're not trying to mimic a crotch rocket on a Harley Davidson.

I have over 35k on my FLHX and have scrapped a floor board once.

Shift your weight to the inside of the corners; there's a reason the sport bike riders do this... This change in centre of gravity along with counter steering allows the bike to go through the corners with less lean at higher speeds.... I ride with a friend who scrapes his boards all the time - his style is to basically sit bolt upright through the corners... I take the corner at the same speed and rarely if ever scrape anything and my bike is lowered!! I attribute the difference to my tendancy to hang off the bike a bit n corners.... Something I picked up from my sport bike days
